[MONETA FUNDED Authorized] One News Trade and You're Out? Weekend Holding? Official Rules + Confirmed with the Team!
Is one accidental news trade an instant fail? Can you hold over the weekend or overnight? Answers from MONETA FUNDED's official Help Center and a direct check with the support lead.
Hiii everyone, hello again! It's Natsuki, MONETA's person for Japan. "MONETA Business Developer 🇯🇵" is such a long title… is there a good abbreviation? lol
My fingers already hurt from writing so much today, so let's skip the intro! I wanted to say something funny, but I'll let you off this time. HAHA!
So, when using MONETA Funded, people wonder:
"If I accidentally trade the news, is that an instant fail?" "Is it OK to hold positions over the weekend?" "Will my account get banned on the spot? Noooo"
I might get so frustrated I go full drama queen, so I checked these points in the official Help Center and asked MONETA Funded's support lead directly.
OK, the conclusion!!!
A news trading violation ≠ immediate account termination On a program where news trading is prohibited, one accidental news trade does not get your account terminated on the spot.
MONETA Funded's official Help Center page "Consequences of Violating the News Trading Rule" clearly states the following.
Net profits generated from trades that violate this rule may be subject to deduction. In other words, net profit from news trades that break the rule may be deducted.
And also,
Repeated attempts to trade high-impact news across multiple days may result in account restriction or violation. That means, if you repeatedly trade high-impact news across multiple days, your account may be restricted or treated as a violation.
That's what it says.
I also confirmed directly with the team.
Since the official page uses the word "may,"
"So what actually happens on a first violation?"
is what I asked MONETA Funded's team directly. The answer was clear.
"It's not immediate termination on a first offense."
And further,
"Currently, a single news trading violation results in the profit from that trade being deducted, not account termination."
That's what they said. So, to sum it up very simply:
One violation on a no-news account ↓ The profit from that trade is removed ↓ Not immediate account termination
However, if you repeat violations across multiple days ↓ You may face account restriction, termination or similar measures
That's how it works. It does NOT mean "two strikes are safe" This part is important.
MONETA Funded doesn't publish a clear count like "two warnings, out on the third."
The wording on the official page is "Repeated attempts … across multiple days" meaning violating again and again across multiple days.
It's not "Once was fine, so one more time is fine too!" "The mysterious power around me will save me, so it's fine!"
The point is simply that a single mistake doesn't instantly cost you your account.
Personally, I think this is a very trader-friendly way to handle it.
Weekend and overnight holding is allowed in principle
And one more thing.
The official Help Center also covers "Weekend Holding."
Holding positions overnight and over the weekend is allowed on Moneta Funded accounts. That is, holding positions overnight and over the weekend is allowed in principle.
Just because it's Friday doesn't mean you have to close your positions.
But there's an important exception here.
except where a program restricts it That is, if a program has its own restriction, that rule takes priority.
The official page gives Sprint Challenge's gap-trading restriction as an example.
So it does NOT mean "MONETA allows weekend holding, so anything goes on any plan."
Always check the specific rules of the program you're using.
Summary To sum up MONETA Funded's news trading and holding rules:
One violation on a no-news account
→ profit from that trade is removed → not immediate account termination
Repeated news trading violations across multiple days → possible account restriction or termination
Overnight holding → allowed in principle Weekend holding → allowed in principle But where a program has its own restriction → that rule takes priority
That's it. This isn't a company that pulls stunts like "One mistake and you're done" or "Your account is banned, too bad~!" That was a big point for me personally.
Of course, this doesn't mean you can deliberately trade during the news blackout.
Follow the rules. But if you do make a mistake, there's some grace. I think that's reassuring for traders, too. MONETA is building an environment where traders can trade with peace of mind ☝🏻
